Are the Prouns artworks? What does it mean to spectate at the Prouns? And moreover collect these Prounds, or “artworks”?

Prouns are from the past. There are in a museum, and do not exist anymore.

In 1930 Antonio Gramsci wrote from fascist prison.“...the old is dying and the new cannot be born; in this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear.”

Evolution and Survival

How do the Prouns survive? Is that survival tied to a specific narrative related to the Pompidou? More generally, how does artwork survive if the museum kills it? Is there a larger narrative about survival and the contemporary?

The artworks here were automated too. Someone figured it would be cheaper if they became sort of intelligent and evolved on their own. Its about the survival of the fittest.

Fitness Function

What is a Fitness Function?
Fitness Function (also known as the Evaluation Function) evaluates how close a given solution is to the optimum solution of the desired problem. It determines how fit a solution is.

Why use Fitness Functions?
In genetic algorithms, each solution is generally represented as a string of binary numbers, known as a chromosome. We have to test these solutions and come up with the best set of solutions to solve a given problem. Each solution, therefore, needs to be awarded a score, to indicate how close it came to meeting the overall specification of the desired solution. This score is generated by applying the fitness function to the test, or results obtained from the tested solution.
